About the author

Mira Burri is associate professor for international economic and internet law and managing director for internationalisation at the Faculty of Law of the University of Lucerne. She teaches internet law, digital copyright and international media and trade law. She was previously a senior fellow at the World Trade Institute at the University of Bern, where she led a project on digital technologies and trade governance as part of the Swiss National Centre of Competence in Research (NCCR): Trade Regulation.

Mira pursued her doctoral studies at the University of Bern and was awarded the Professor Walther Hug prize (2006/2007) for her thesis. Mira completed her habilitation in 2015 and received a venia for international economic law, European and international communications and media law, as well as internet law. Mira has published widely in the areas of digital trade, trade and culture and internet governance. She has advised the European Parliament, UNESCO, WEF, the Canadian and Japanese governments on issues of digital innovation and of cultural diversity.
