Philippe Cudre-Mauroux ist ordentlicher Professor an der Universität Freiburg und Direktor des eXascale Infolab. Er promovierte an der EPFL, wo er 2007 sowohl den Promotionspreis als auch die EPFL Press Mention erhielt. Bevor er an die Universität Freiburg kam, arbeitete er an Informationsmanagement-Infrastrukturen bei IBM Watson (NY), Microsoft Research Asia und Silicon Valley sowie am MIT. Kürzlich erhielt er den Verisign Internet Infrastructures Award, einen Swiss National Center in Research Award, einen Google Faculty Research Award sowie ein Stipendium des Europäischen Forschungsrats in Höhe von 2 Millionen Euro. Seine Forschungsinteressen liegen im Bereich der Big-Data-Management-Infrastrukturen der nächsten Generation für nicht-relationale Daten und KI. Website: http://exascale.info/phil
